High-Quality NTC Sensor Parts For Enhanced Properties

The plated wires are widely used in thermistor and temperature sensor. They have properties like solderability, temperature range, contact resistance or corrosion, and chemical resistance, To optimize the above properties mentioned above, conductors are often plated with different materials. In this article, we will illustrate the three common types of the plated wires.

● Silver-Plated Nickel Wire / Silver Coated Nickel Wire

Silver has excellent conductivity and .silver coating is suitable for high-temperature processes, and goods for soldering. Also, nickel body is suitable for high-speed heating transmission. Therefore it can be used for high-temperature wire conductor like PTFE/polyimide wire.

The solderability of silver-plated conductors is excellent and while silver may experience some oxidation, silver oxide is a conducting material so the impact on solderability is not significant.
Moreover, silver plated wire offers excellent high-temperature lubricity making it a preferred coating for high friction applications. Silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals as well as the highest optical reflectivity.

The above table shows the silver plated nickel wire main element for nickel. The silver coating offers excellent solderability strength to chips, and this type of wire is specially used for high-temperature NTC/Sensor lead.

What's the advantage of Silver Coated Nickel Wire

● Tin Coated Nickel Wire / Tin Plated Nickel Wire

Tin-coated nickel wires are widely used for a conductor or connecting wires for electronic components because of their perfect solderability and reasonable cost.  What's more, it can improve the corrosions and chemical resistance. The tin coating is easy for wire soldering, nickel body is suitable for heating transmission and it can be used in high-speed reaction sensors.

Tin plated nickel wire technical parameter:

Size(OD): >0.25MM
Tin coated thickness: >3um
Nickel purity: N6  Ni +Co ≧99.50
                      N4  Ni +Co ≧99.90

● Nickel Magnetic Wire

Nickel is a much harder metal than other common plating options and offers excellent resistance to high temperatures. Nickel is very resistant to harsh environments and corrosion.

This nickel magnetic wire is our newly developed product, and it has greater heating transmission characteristics than other magnetic wires. The insulation coating was cured, free from bubbles, soft spots, and shall not separate from insulation when pulled apart and will remain bonded in normal handling.

Parameters:

Conductor: NI200/N6 Nickel ( Nickel purity >99.5%)
            NI201/N4 Nickel  ( Nickel purity>99.9%)
Wire diameter: >0.05mm
Coating material:Polyster, Polyimide, Polyurethane, etc
Type: single one, bifilar, twist etc, as per customer requirements
Dielectric withstand: minimum breakdown voltage = 2150V (dry)
Insulation test leakage: this wire insulation withstand 100VDC in a 0.9% Naci solution
